Our Female Winner Award - The Judy Allison Shield is an annual award that was introduced for the 2023/2024 season.
Judy Allison was part of a group that formed Bridlington Road Runners in 1983.
In 1994 she helped Tony Phillips set up the East Yorkshire Cross Country League. Judy was responsible for organising the Bridlington Race within the EYXC league fixture. Judy and her husband Bruce also prepared the league results for many years.
Judy has had a stellar running career, still holding Bridlington RR clubs lady marathon record at 2hrs 55 at the London Marathon in 1985, as well as winning the senior ladies 1989 county cross country championship. Judy was the Bridlington RR club secretary for many a year and is now a honorary member of Bridlington RR.
Judy and Bruce have in recent years attended the EYXC end of season presentation as guests.
