Our 1st MV70 Award - The Nigel Warner Award is an annual award that was introduced for the 2024/25 season.
Nigel loved both Goole Viking Striders and his running. He was a very keen cross country runner and dedicated club man, being the club press officer for over 30 years.
Nigel was the first Goole Viking Striders captain and rep when the league started in 1994 with the first race at Danes Dyke. He helped set up the Welton race course as race director when it made its debut in the 1997/98 season.
Nigel was a very funny man, great company and very popular within the EYXC league community. Nigel passed away after a short illness in 2024.
