Dear fellow runners
The final race of the East Yorkshire cross country league 2025/2026 will be held at Sewerby village hall, YO15 1EA on Sunday 8th March at 10am.
Sewerby village is on the coast on the northern outskirts of Bridlington. Please ask runners to car share wherever possible.
PARKING - partial parking at Sewerby Hall car park. Car park attendants will be there to direct you.
We do NOT have permission to park at the Ship Inn.
Please car share where possible.
TOILETS - are in the Church Hall and also at Sewerby Hall which is located near the clock tower cafe within Sewerby Hall grounds.
START and FINISH - on the cliff top. The start area can be accessed directly from the grounds of Sewerby Hall. After leaving the car park turn right at the bandstand.
COURSE - 5.6 miles. Along the cliff path to Danes Dyke, across the first bridge and up the steps. Across the fields to Flamborough and along the cliffs from Beacon Hill and back to the Dyke. Through the Dyke and back to Sewerby the way you came. Please watch out for signs and follow directions given by the marshals.
SHOES - the course is likely to be muddy but with short tarmac stretch’s. Studs are recommended.
BUFFET and PRESENTATION - awards for the 2025/2026 season will be given in Sewerby church hall - which is opposite to Sewerby Hall car park. There is no bar but runners can bring their own drinks if they wish.
FACILITIES - to ensure that we are able to use these facilities in the future please ask runners not to walk mud into Sewerby church hall or Sewerby Hall toilets.
CLUB VESTS - official club vests or tops must be worn and be the outer garment. Your race number must be clearly visible on the front of your vest.
HEADPHONES - strictly no headphones or other musical devices must be worn as marshal’s instructions must be heard and followed.
MAXIMUM RACE TIME - the maximum race time for Sewerby is 85 minutes, if you think you may be close to or over this time please consider carefully before taking part and if you have any concerns please discuss with your club XC rep.
MARSHALS - if any club has anyone available for marshalling please get in touch. All assistance appreciated.
