Parking

Please car share if possible. Parking is marked in the blue zones and marshals will direct you. The red zone is for the general public only, as the hall will be open for visitors and they must have priority. To get from the parking to the start there is a 5 minute walk along the main road and then down a track. This will be signposted and marshalled.

Please don’t access the start by walking in front of the house as the Sykes family live there and this is crossing their front lawn!!

Toilets: There are toilets next to the main car park and additional portable toilets at the start. It’s a 5min walk/ 2min run from the toilets to the start so please leave enough time. Do not use any part of the grounds as a toilet – this is a private estate and we want to be able to use the course again

Route

The course is the same as usual and comprises two laps within the private grounds of Sledmere estate. Please follow the signs and obey the instructions of the marshals. The course is approximately 7 miles and is on either grass or fast chalk paths. There are normally no very muddy sections and there are no very steep hills, however there is a long steady climb of more than a mile on each lap. Studded off road shoes or spikes are recommended.

Refreshments

Hot drinks, water and snack food will be available at the finish. Please bring your own mug for drinks to minimise environmental consequences – please could clubs arrange to bring flasks of hot water to help.

Cafe

The cafe will be open for all and serves a good selection of food and drinks. Highly recommended.

First Aid

Professional cover is on hand provided by Julian Hall First Aid Services.

Reminder on rules

Club vests/tops must be worn as your outer garment.

Race numbers must be worn on the front of your vest/top, clearly visible and secured by four safety pins.

There is a time limit of 107 minutes (1-47) for the course. Based on a pace of 15m/mile.

No music or headphones.

Note: This is a private estate and we have permission to use it only on the day. You cannot go and run the course before the day of the race.

Have a great run
